Q-1

Should I get fitted out with my Rental skis/snowboard the day before I hit the slopes?

Yes if at all possible. As organizing Rental equipment can takes up to 45 minutes, it is recommended you do it the afternoon / evening before your first day on the slopes. After organizing your equipment, complimentary overnight storage is available. Myoko Snowsports Rentals is open from 8:15am till 5pm daily.

Do I need to book my rentals in advance?

Advance bookings are not essential, however they are strongly recommended.

I have my own skis / snowboard. Should I consider renting instead?

This depends on your airline's baggage allowance policy (if you are flying). Many major air carriers have recently changed their policies on sports gear allowances. We recommend you confirm your allowances with your airline in advance to see if you will be able to bring your own equipment. Myoko Snowsports' quality Rental range offers an easy alternative.

Where can I purchase Lift tickets?

Lift tickets are available for purchase at the Myoko Snowsports office. Discounts on lift tickets are available when purchasing them with lesson or rental packages. Click here to view retail lift ticket prices.

Can I swap from skis to snowboard or vice versa during my trip?

Yes. You can swap once and back again free of charge, extra swaps will attract a small service fee.

Do you accept payments by credit card?

Yes we accept payments by all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diner’s Club). Cash payments (Japanese yen) are also available.

What are Myoko Snowsports’ operating dates?

These are similar each winter season. For the 2011-12 winter season we will be open from Sat 17th Dec 2011 to Sun 1st April 2012.

Do your staff speak English?

Yes. All our staff speak either fluent or native English.

Where are you located?

Our rental shop is located in the Ibis building near the bottom of Champion #1 chairlift in Akakura Kanko Resort. You will easily find us by our bright blue ‘Myoko Snowsports’ flags around the building. Please click to view our Location Mini-Map.

Can you pick me up from my accommodation?

A complimentary pick up service is offered when coming to be fitted out with your rental equipment (availability dependant). Your driver can meet you at a pre-confirmed point at your accommodation.
Guests are asked to make their own way to/from Myoko Snowsports at all other times. A complimentary shuttle bus service operates daily throughout the village and stops close to most accommodations. The staff at your accommodation will be able to provide you with a schedule and route map.
