Getting to and from Myoko Kogen

Getting to and from Myoko Kogen

Are you flying to Japan?

If you are considering bringing your own skis / snowboard we recommend checking baggage allowances with your airline to ensure you don't get stuck with overweight bags at the airport. A number of airlines have recently changed their policies, making travel with sports gear more difficult.

Luggage Transfer Service

The 'Takyubin' or 'Black Cat' luggage transfer service in Japan is cheap, safe and reliable.

This service is available from the desk in the Arrivals lobby immediately after passing through Customs at Narita Airport. Ask an airport staff member to show you where.

Delivery is generally overnight, however you should check with the counter staff what time your luggage will arrive at your accommodation before sending it. So long as delivery suits your timetable, we strongly recommend using this service as it will make your train ride that much easier and less stressful. You will need to have your accommodation name, address and phone number details with you when sending luggage from Narita. Allow approximately 2,000 yen for a large bag.

Luggage can also be sent from Myoko (or anywhere in Japan) back to Narita, which you can then pick up before checking in to your outbound flight. Luggage must be sent two to three days prior to your flight. You will need to know your flight number and which terminal your flight leaves from when sending. At the time of sending your luggage to Narita you will be issued with a receipt. It is extremely important you keep this safe as you will need to present it upon collection of your bags at the Takyubin counter in the Narita Departure area. Most accommodations in Myoko can assist you with sending your bags back to Narita.

If you need extra assistance, please feel free to ask us at the Myoko Snowsports Office.
