Q-1

Should I get fitted out with my rental skis/snowboard the day before my lessons start?

Yes if at all possible. As organizing Rental equipment can take up to 45 minutes, it is highly recommended you do it the afternoon before your first day on the slopes. After organizing your equipment, complimentary overnight storage is available. Myoko Snowsports Rentals is open from 8:15am till 5pm daily.

Do I need to book my lessons in advance?

Advance bookings are not essential, however they are recommended, particularly for Private Lessons, Private Programs and Alpine Shredders.

My children have special dietary requirements; can they be catered for at lunch time?

Yes. Our instructors check for any dietary requirements at the start of the day and an alternative lunch will be prepared if required.

Are lift tickets included in the lesson price or where can I purchase them?

The lesson prices listed do not include lift tickets; however lift tickets are available for purchase at the Myoko Snowsports office. Discounts on lift tickets are available when purchasing them with lesson or rental packages. Retail lift ticket prices can be viewed on our The Mountain, Trail Maps & Lift Tickets page.

Do you accept payments by credit card?

Yes we accept payments by all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diner's Club). Cash payments (Japanese yen) are also available.

What are Myoko Snowsports' operating dates?

These are similar each winter season. For the 2011-12 winter season we will be open from Sat 17th Dec 2011 to Sun 1st April 2012.

Do your instructors speak English?

Yes. As we are a specialized International Snowsports School all our lessons are run in English, and all our instructors speak either native or fluent English. The majority of our instructors are westerners. We do not offer lessons in Japanese, but these are available at other local Japanese snowsports schools.

Where do I meet for my lessons?

Our offices, Kids Centre and rental shop are located in the Ibis building near the bottom of Champion #1 chairlift in Akakura Kanko Resort. All payments are made and tickets are collected from here. You will easily find us by our bright blue 'Myoko Snowsports' flags around the building. Please click to view our Location Mini-Map.

What time should I arrive for my lessons?

Mini Mountaineers programs meet at 9am and Alpine Explorers and Alpine Shredders at 9:15am. All private lessons and programs meet 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Can you pick me up from my accommodation?

Lux Private Lessons, Multi Resort and Beginner's Smart Start programs include a complimentary pick up service by private vehicle. Your driver will meet you at a pre-confirmed point at your accommodation.
A complimentary pick up service is also offered when coming to be fitted out with your rental equipment (availability dependant).
Guests are asked to make their own way to Myoko Snowsports at all other times. A complimentary shuttle bus service operates daily throughout the village and stops close to most accommodations. The staff at your accommodation will be able to provide you with a schedule and route map.
